How to reset an app's connection to a Google Sheet

This article explains how to reset an app's connection to a Google Sheet when syncing issues occur.

Updated over a week ago

If data has stopped syncing between your app and its Google Sheets data source, follow these steps to reset the connection:

  1. Make sure the email address associated with your Glide account has read and write permissions to the Google Sheet used by your app.

  2. Ensure you are signed into your Google account — the one that has access to the Sheet.
⚠️ Make sure you are not signing in via Single Sign-On (SSO).

  3. If you signed into your Glide account using your email address and a sign in link via email, try signing out of Glide and back in using the Sign in with Google option.

  4. Reconnect the Google Sheet

    1. In the Glide app, navigate to Settings->Data

    2. Under the Data Sources section, click the three-dot menu next to the Google Sheet name

    1. Select Replace

    2. In the modal, choose the original Google Sheet (or a copy of it that contains the most up-to-date data).

    1. Click Select

  5. Go back to the Data Editor view in Glide and click the manual sync arrow (↻) in the bottom left corner to check if the issue is resolved.

Your Glide App should now by reconnected to its Google Sheet.

If you get a 403 error when trying to add the Google Sheet, take a look at the article Getting a 403 Error When Connecting Google Sheets.
