What Happens When Your Team Runs Out of Updates

This article explains what Updates are, what happens when the Update quota is exceeded, and how to restore normal functionality.

If your Glide Team runs out of Updates, several parts of your app may stop working. This can include Glide AI returning “No Response,” workflows no longer running, third-party actions failing, and data syncing with external services being paused.

This article explains what Updates are, what happens when the Update quota is exceeded, and how to restore normal functionality.

What are Updates?

Updates are the units consumed when Glide performs actions such as:

  • Running workflows

  • Executing third-party actions and integrations

  • Interacting with external data sources

  • Processing Glide AI requests

Each Glide Team has a monthly Update quota based on its plan. When that quota is exhausted (and Unlimited Updates has not been enabled), Glide temporarily stops executing these actions to prevent additional usage.

What happens when your Team runs out of Updates?

When your Team exceeds its Update quota, the following behaviors can occur:

  • Glide AI returns “No Response” instead of generating an answer

  • Workflows stop running, including automation and background processes

  • Third-party actions do not execute, even though they appear correctly configured

  • Third-party data syncing pauses, and external data sources stop updating

These issues all share the same root cause: the Team’s Update quota has been fully consumed.

How to check your Update usage

  1. Go to your Team dashboard at https://go.glideapps.com.

  2. If you belong to multiple Teams, confirm you’re viewing the correct one by checking the name in the top-left corner.

  3. Open the Usage page.

  4. Review your total Updates used, remaining quota, and per-app usage.

Pay close attention to apps with unusually high Update usage, as they may be responsible for consuming the quota more quickly than expected.

How to restore functionality

If your Update quota has been reached, you can resolve the issue in one of the following ways:

  1. Enable Unlimited Updates

Go to the Billing or Usage page and turn on Unlimited Updates. Any Updates beyond your plan’s included quota will be billed per update at the end of each billing period. See the pricing page for current rates.

  2. Upgrade your plan

Move to a higher plan to increase your monthly Update quota.

  3. Request a one-time reset

If your quota was consumed unexpectedly, contact Glide Support to request a one-time Update quota reset.

Once Update availability is restored, affected features such as Glide AI, workflows, integrations, and syncing should resume normal operation.
