Display Limits in Collections
Updated over a week ago

Collections show items in your data in a variety of different styles. To create a better user experience, you may want to limit how many items appear in a given collection on a page.

Step-by-Step Guide to Limit Items in a Card Collection

  1. Start by navigating to the Layout Editor of your app.

  2. If you already have a Card Collection set up, click on it. If not, add a new Card Collection by clicking the plus (+) symbol, finding 'Collections' in the menu, and selecting 'Card'.

  3. After selecting your card collection, specify the data source and customize the items' data section to your needs.

  4. Set the Item limit:

    • You can find the 'Limit number of items' setting at the bottom of the configuration options for your Card Collection.

    • Enter the maximum number of items you want to display.

  5. Adjust page size: If your collection is extensive enough to warrant multiple pages, decide how many items to show per page.

When you set a page size for a grouped list in your app, the size applies to each group, not the entire list. Each group will display only the number of items you specify per page.

For example, if you group a list of articles with FAQs and Callouts by article and set a page size of 2, each article will show only its first 2 FAQs and Callouts independently.
