Having issues importing a CSV file?

CSV Import attempts to auto-type the columns it's importing and sometimes it makes mistakes.

Users can import CSV, XLSX, and ODS files into Glide Tables and Glide Big Tables. When the data is imported, Glide attempts to detect the type of data each column represents (e.g., number, email, date, text). If you import a CSV file and the auto-detection gets a column type wrong, try converting the file to the ODS format and then importing again.

Convert a CSV file to ODS using Microsoft Excel

  1. Open the CSV file in Microsoft Excel

  2. Under the File menu, select Save As, and choose Download as ODS or set the file format to ODS

  3. Save the file to your local device

Convert a CSV file to ODS using Google Sheets

  1. Open the CSV file in Google Sheets

  2. Under the File menu, select Download, and choose OpenDocument (.ods)

  3. Save the file to your local device

Import an ODS file into a new Glide Table

  1. Open your app in the Builder and navigate to the Data tab

  2. Click the plus sign (+) to add a new data source and choose Blank Table

  3. A new table will be added on the left side of the screen

  4. Give the table a name or accept the default

  5. Right-click the table name and click Import...

  6. In the modal, click Choose a file

  7. Select the ODS file on your local device and click Open

  8. Click Continue
