These are the accepted file types: PDF, images (JPEG/PNG/BMP/TIFF/HEIF), and the modern Office Open XML formats (<code>.docx</code>, <code>.xlsx</code>, <code>.pptx</code>) plus HTML.

Legacy formats like <code>.doc</code>, .xls, .ppt, .rtf, .odt, .wpt, .wps, .pages, .pub, and others are not supported.

You would have to use an API call to a document-conversion service (CloudConvert, ConvertAPI, Zamzar, Aspose Cloud, etc.) to convert other kinds of file types to one of the accepted types, or have the API return plain text.
